CUBEX-1 Balloon Launch

Preparing for the HABEX Pico launch. (LayerOne 2013)

Another year, another High-Altitude Balloon EXperiment (HABEX) launch! This year’s payload is CUBEX-1, capable of both GPS reporting and image streaming. CUBEX-1 will be sending data back to the ground station in LayerOne 2014’s Hardware Hacking Village while it journeys towards the deserts north of the Angeles Crest mountains. CUBEX-1 is expected to reach a peak altitude of 100,000 feet! It will be launched on Saturday, May 24th, 2014 at 12:00 (Noon) in the pool area.
