Bio: I have been involved with computers for over 20 years. At the age of 10, I began my online presence as the operator of a BBS. Ever since then I have taken an interest in how technology works and the security aspects relating to its use. Currently a security architect for a large software company, I am also one of the organizers for the annual Defcon conference in Las Vegas, and a founder of Black Lodge Research, a Redmond, WA based hackerspace. I have spoken on security topics and privacy issues for the Association of Internet Professionals, the University of California at Irvine, and at Cisco. I spend my free time hiking, fishing, and generally acting like a redneck.

When not combating evil, “Pappy” organizes charity full-contact paintball tournaments between the Walter P. Butterpants Junior High School Co-Ed Pine Car Derby Team, and the Association for the Veterans of Foreign Wars, to benefit the Meco Townsip Blunderbuss A.D.
